'Just as I decide to pick up and move 2500 miles away, this little lady decided I needed a new companion': Woman taking care of her grandparents finds timid stray, causing her to rethink her trajectory

Sometimes the sweetest gesture is to pay homage to someone you were close to, or a loved one was close to. 

This woman has been taking care of her 93-year-old and 79-year-old grandparents for the last two years. Her aunts have started helping, and took a lot of the weight off of her so that she could make a life change. She wants to move across the country to Los Angeles, California. Just as she decides to pick up and leave, a little cute kitty greets her and makes her rethink her trajectory. The cat has been sleeping on the hood of her car on and off for a year, and she thinks the sweet thing was abandoned. She has a collar with a bell, but she isn't in the best condition. She approached the woman with loud meows and was timid at first. But after a day of this the kitty comes to her first thing in the morning the next day. She comes up to her and was laying on a chair but hops into her lap. The rest is history! She names the kitty Donna after her grandma's best friend. Sooner or later, the grandma also turns to giving the cat lots of love, and she finally has a furrever home.

  • It's so adorable and heartwarming how this story turned out. Easily, it could have been that the woman left and moved across the country and that her grandma wouldn't have wanted the kitty. But luckily her grandma does want to take in this cat. Sometimes when a cat is a stray, he or she might develop a heightened sense of survival skills, making them a bit difficult to get along with. It's not out of aggression, but they have been on the streets so long that they don't know how to act kind anymore. But after some attempted pets, the cat eased, calmed down, and decided to choose these humans as her own. Donna is an especially adorable name for a cat, it reminds me of a character in David Lynch's Twin Peaks. Read the full story to find out what really happens to this little kitty and the woman.
